Sub-head 89.---Raising level of Causeway to Kowloon City Pier, $3,000.--The access Causeway to this Ferry pier is awash when high tides are accompanied by wind. It is proposed to raise the height from 8'6" to 12′0′′ O.D.

93.-Market & Reclamation-Tsun Wan, $6,000.--This is in the nature of a revote from 1933 towards the cost of a small reclamation and the construction of a market.

94.-Government Bungalow, Fanling. $73,000.--To complete the erection

of a country residence for the use of His Excellency the Governor.

GENERAL WORKS.

95.-Roads, $8,000.-To cover expenditure in connection with the develop-

ment of Sha Tau Kok, Tai Po Market and Un Long, 901.-Drainage: (a) Training Nullahs, $5,000.—To be expended in

manent uullah training.

(b) Miscellaneous Drainage Works, $5,000 —To provide for miscellaneous drainage works made necessary by development at Sha Tau Kok. Tai Po Market and Un Long.

98.--Miscellaneous, $5,000.--To cover expenditure on minor works which

99.-Water Works, $3,000.-For general extension to Government mains

and service supplies required by new development.

COMMUNICATIONS,

100.—Improving and strengthening main roads for motor traffic, $50,000.- A general vote to provide for strengthening and reconditioning portions of main roads in the New Territories.

101.-Improving bends at 53, 6 and 7 miles, Tai Po Road. $20,000.—To

open up and reconstruct three bad bends on this much used highway.

MISCELLANEOUS.

Sub-head 102.-Compensation & Resumptions, $3,000. For minor resumptions which become necessary during the year in connection with road, street or other improvements.

103.-New 6" supply main to Tai Po. $10,000.--To commence work on the

provision of an adequate water main to this village.

104. Un Long Water Supply, $30,000. The expansion of Un Long has

made the provision of a controlled water supply desirable.

Head 35. Government House & City Development.

Government House, $100,000.--To commence work on the access road and site formation for new Government House which will be situated near Magazine Gap.

Appendix V (B)-Loan Works.

ADDITIONAL WORKS.

Aberdeen Valley Water Scheme, $56,600.-To complete and pay retention money.

Shing Mun Valley Scheme--2nd Section.

Preliminary Works, $8,000.--To provide for further ground surveys and small

contingencies.

2nd Cross Harbour Pipe, $323,000.-The construction of this cross harbour pipe is in accordance with the normal development and is an integral part of the Shing Mun Valley Water Scheme.

Gorge Dam, $1,735,000.-This work is being carried out by Sir Alexander Binnie, Son & Deacon, Civil Engineers who hope during 1984 to complete the excavation for the dam and the erection of plant, to quarry and place about 300,000 tons of rock and about 20,000 cubic yards of concrete in the dam, to drive and line with concrete the diversion tunnel to control the river through the dam.

New Gaol at Stanley, $1,000,000.—To complete site preparation and commence the

construction of boundary walls and buildings.

Tytam Tuk Catchwaters, $320,000.-To continue works on Tytam Tuk (East), Dragon's Back and Mount Pottinger Catchwaters and commence work on Mount Parker Catchwater. This is to provide an increased catchment area for Tytam Tuk Reservoir.

'Air Port.

Air Port and Seaplane Slipway, $310,000.—To provide for the construction of a hangar for civil use, with a temporary ancillary building, and a seaplane slipway at the west end of the landing ground.

Wireless Telegraph Station, $95,000-To provide equipment for wireless

services to be used in connection with civil aviation.
